We started more than 30 years ago with furniture upholstery and reupholstery.
Custom built furniture and furniture reupholstery is where Orosco Design got its start more than 30 years ago. While we have expanded our offerings to include a full range of interior design services, we have never abandoned the business that launched Orosco Design as you know it today. Residents and businesses from Redlands, Riverside, Rancho Cucamonga and across the Inland Empire are proudly showing off the custom upholstery work we were able to do that gave new life to their favorite piece of furniture.
What types of furniture can be reupholstered?
After more than 30 years in business, we’ve reupholstered just about everything. Here is just a small sampling of the kinds of work we’ve done:
- Dining room seats
- Wing back chairs
- Booth seats
- Exam tables
- Cornice boxes
- Car and boat interiors
- …and much more
How does the upholstery process work?
The initial process is really pretty simple. In most cases, we don’t even need to meet in person for a preliminary estimate. If you have pictures of the piece you want reupholstered, we can usually give you a pretty close estimate to you right away. We will always encourage our clients to visit our shop in Redlands to look at fabrics and get their questions answered. Fabric prices vary greatly, and it is the one item that can have the greatest impact on the final price of your job.
Once you select a fabric, we can give you an exact quote for labor and material to complete the job. Once you accept the estimate, we will take a deposit and order the fabric to get the project started. Next, we will pick up the furniture from your home and get to work.
Any time we reupholster a piece of furniture we do not cut corners. All of the old material is removed, and we check the furniture for any loose pieces of wood that need repair or any screws we can tighten up. We also check the foam to make sure it is in good condition and replace or repair any damaged pieces. Once all the interior repairs are complete, we cover the piece with the new fabric you selected.. Finally, we deliver a showroom-ready piece back to the your home that you will be proud to show off to friends and family.
Is it better to reupholster or buy new?
We always tell our clients that this can be a tough decision. One thing we ask people to think about is how much they like the furniture they currently have. If it is comfortable to you, fits well in your house, or has some family history with it, then we always recommend reupholstering. If there is something small about your furniture that you do not like such as the foam being too firm or too soft, or you don’t like the skirt that is on it, remember that we are a custom upholstery shop and can change aspects of your furniture during this process.
Are there extra costs other than labor and material?
Not always, but, yes, there can be extra costs involved with furniture upholstery. The biggest one is if the furniture needs all new foam. If a large piece, such as a sectional, needs new foam, it can increase the final bill. New foam in a newly upholstered piece is very important because the foam is what provides the comfort of a new piece of furniture. If we find that you do need new foam, we will reach out to you about how you would like to proceed. No sneaky extra costs. We’re upfront with our clients and we respect their budgets and decisions.
We know that not everyone has a truck to haul all of their furniture in. So, we come to you to try to make the process as easy as we can for you. We include our pickup and delivery services at no additional charge whenever we are upholstering furniture for our clients.
